eBay

Gierd connects to eBay through OAuth — no API keys to manage. Once connected, Gierd syncs your eBay orders, inventory, transactions, and payouts into the same unified view as your other channels.

eBay is a supported Pricing Engine marketplace. Prices are calculated from the Amazon anchor and adjusted for eBay-specific channel costs, then pushed to your eBay listings automatically.

What data syncs

Once connected, Gierd syncs the following data from your eBay account:

Data Description
Orders All sales transactions and line items
Transactions Payment and financial transaction records
Inventory Stock levels per SKU
Payouts eBay-managed payment payouts
Returns Return requests and resolutions

Before you begin

You’ll need:

  • An active eBay seller account
  • Admin access in Gierd

Connect eBay

  1. Open Connections

    Section titled “Open Connections”

    In Gierd, go to Connections in the left sidebar. Click Add Connection, then select eBay.

  2. Fill out the connection form

    Enter the following:

    • Name — a label for this connection (e.g., “eBay US”)
    • Seller Name — your eBay seller username
    • Seller ID — your eBay seller ID
    • Marketplace Country/Region — select the eBay marketplace your account sells on (defaults to United States)

  3. Authorize Gierd in eBay

    Section titled “Authorize Gierd in eBay”

    Click Authorize. You’ll be redirected to eBay’s sign-in page. Log in with your eBay seller credentials, then click Agree and Continue to grant Gierd access to your account.

  4. Save the connection

    Section titled “Save the connection”

    After authorizing, you’ll be returned to Gierd. Review the connection details and click Save to complete setup. Gierd begins syncing your eBay data.

eBay as a secondary pricing channel

The Pricing Engine treats eBay as a secondary channel. Here’s what that means:

  • Prices originate from Amazon. The engine calculates prices for Amazon first, then derives eBay prices from the Amazon anchor with channel-specific cost adjustments.
  • Repricing is bidirectional. The engine raises and lowers eBay prices in response to market conditions, while protecting your profitability floor.

After connecting

Once connected, Gierd begins syncing your eBay data in the background. Check connection status from Connections → eBay in Gierd.

Troubleshooting

Authorization failed

If authorization fails after being redirected back from eBay:

  • Make sure you clicked Agree and Continue on eBay’s consent page rather than canceling
  • Verify you signed in with the correct eBay seller account
  • Try again from Connections → Add Connection → eBay
Connection failed with an error

If you see “Sorry, there was an issue connecting”:

  • Check that the Seller Name you entered matches the account you authorized on eBay
  • Delete the failed connection and start over

If the issue persists, contact support with the connection name and error message.

Data not appearing after connecting

After saving, Gierd begins syncing your eBay data in the background. Orders and inventory appear first; payout and transaction data may take longer depending on your account history.

If data is still missing after several hours, go to Connections, find the eBay connection, and check its status for any errors.

Prices aren’t updating on eBay

Automated repricing on eBay requires:

  • At least one Pricing Strategy active and assigned to your eBay SKUs
  • An active Amazon connection (eBay prices are anchored to Amazon)
  • The connection status showing Connected
