Walmart Marketplace

Gierd connects to Walmart Marketplace using a Client ID and Client Secret from the Walmart Developer Portal. Once connected, Gierd syncs your orders, inventory, payouts, and returns — and the Pricing Engine begins repricing your Walmart listings based on your Amazon anchor price, adjusted for Walmart-specific channel costs.

What data syncs

Once connected, Gierd syncs the following data from your Walmart Marketplace account:

Data	Description
Orders	All marketplace orders, used to populate Sales and Finance
Inventory	Current stock levels per item
Marketplace payouts	Payout and reconciliation data, used in the Finance ledger
Returns	Return orders and return status

Before you begin

You’ll need:

• An active Walmart Marketplace seller account
• Access to the Walmart Developer Portal to generate a solution provider key
• Your Client ID and Client Secret generated for Gierd

Note

Walmart API credentials are generated through the Walmart Developer Portal, not Seller Center. Make sure you’re in the correct portal before following the steps below.

Find your Walmart API credentials

Gierd connects to Walmart as a solution provider. You generate a key specifically for Gierd in the Walmart Developer Portal.

1. Go to developer.walmart.com and sign in with your Walmart seller account.
2. Click Add New Key For A Solution Provider.
3. In the dropdown, select Gierd and click Next.
4. Grant Full Access to the following:
   • Item Management
   • Order Management
   • Fulfillment
5. Click Submit.
6. Copy your Client ID and Client Secret.

Connect Walmart

1. Open Connections

   In Gierd, go to Connections in the left sidebar. Click Add Connection, then select Walmart Marketplace.

2. Fill out the connection form

   Enter the following:

   • Name — a label for this connection (e.g., “Walmart”)
   • Seller Name — your Walmart seller name
   • Client ID — from the Walmart Developer Portal
   • Client Secret — from the Walmart Developer Portal

3. Authorize the connection

   Click Authorize. Gierd authenticates with the Walmart API using your credentials and saves the connection.

Walmart and the Pricing Engine

Walmart is a secondary pricing channel in Gierd’s Pricing Engine. Walmart prices aren’t calculated independently — Gierd syndicates them from your Amazon anchor price and adjusts for Walmart channel costs.

• When your Amazon price changes, your Walmart prices update automatically.
• The Pricing Engine will not set a Walmart price below the channel minimum, protecting your margin on every sale.

After connecting

Once connected, Gierd begins syncing your Walmart data in the background. Check connection status from Connections → Walmart Marketplace in Gierd.

Troubleshooting

Invalid credentials error

If Gierd reports that your credentials are invalid:

• Check that you copied both the Client ID and Client Secret in full without extra spaces
• Confirm you’re using credentials generated through Walmart Developer Portal — not Seller Center
• Verify the key was created using Add New Key For A Solution Provider with Gierd selected, not a generic app key

Data not appearing after connecting

After saving, Gierd begins syncing your Walmart data in the background. If data is still missing after several hours, go to Connections, find the Walmart connection, and check its status for any errors.
