Target (Beta)

Caution

Target is currently in beta. This connection is not available by default — contact your Gierd account manager to request access.

Gierd connects to Target Plus using three credentials from the Target Partner Portal and Target Developer Portal. Once connected, Gierd syncs your orders, inventory, payouts, returns, and shipments.

Note

Target Plus is an invite-only marketplace. You must be an approved Target Plus partner before you can connect.

Note

Target is not currently supported by the Pricing Engine. Automated repricing is not available for Target Plus. Your data will sync and appear in Sales, Catalog, and Finance, but pricing decisions will not be pushed to this channel.

What data syncs

Once connected, Gierd syncs the following data from your Target Plus account:

Data	Description
Orders	All marketplace orders, used to populate Sales and Finance
Inventory	Current stock levels per SKU
Payouts	Payout reconciliation data, used in the Finance ledger
Returns	Return orders and dispute records
Shipments	Shipment history and tracking

Before you begin

You’ll need three credentials from Target’s portals:

• Seller ID — from the Target Partner Portal under Business Info → Basic Info → SMS
• API key — generated in the Target Partner Portal under Partner Settings → Authentications → API Tokens
• Seller Token — generated at developer.target.com under API Management → Apps and Keys

Find your credentials

Seller ID

1. Log in to the Target Partner Portal
2. Go to Business Info → Basic Info
3. Your Seller ID is listed under SMS

API key

1. In the Target Partner Portal, go to Partner Settings → Authentications → API Tokens
2. Click the pencil icon to generate or view your API key

Seller token

1. Go to developer.target.com
2. Navigate to API Management → Apps and Keys
3. Click the + button in the upper right to generate a new seller token

Connect Target

1. Open Connections

   In Gierd, go to Connections in the left sidebar. Click Add Connection, then select Target.

2. Fill out the connection form

   Enter the following:

   • Name — a label for this connection (e.g., “Target Plus”)
   • Seller Name — your Target Plus seller name
   • Seller ID — from Business Info in the Partner Portal
   • API Key — from Partner Settings → Authentications in the Partner Portal
   • Seller Token — from API Management in the Developer Portal

3. Save the connection

   Click Save. Gierd validates your credentials and begins syncing your Target data.

After connecting

Once connected, Gierd begins syncing your Target data in the background. Check connection status from Connections → Target in Gierd.

Troubleshooting

Connection failed — invalid credentials

If Gierd reports that your credentials are invalid:

• Verify each of the three credentials is copied correctly with no extra spaces
• Check that your API Key is active in the Partner Portal
• If your Seller Token has expired, generate a new one at developer.target.com and update the connection

Data not appearing after connecting

After saving, Gierd begins syncing your Target data in the background. If data is still missing after several hours, go to Connections, find the Target connection, and check its status for any errors.

Why isn’t repricing working for Target?

The Pricing Engine does not currently support automated repricing for Target Plus. Pricing must be managed manually in the Target Partner Portal.

Your orders, inventory, and payout data will continue to sync and appear in Finance, Sales, and Catalog.
